"The Abs Diet" Review

the abs diet

Is the weight loss book "Abs Diet" effective? Does it work? Will it work for you?

The book can be used very effective if followed strictly. Studies have shown that in comparison of different diets, the people that lost the most weight were the ones that followed the diet the most strict.

Anyways, this book is a great resource for beginners trying to lose some weight or get "abs".

Diet

A very nice intro into healthy eating is their 12 Power Foods that they have in the book. These special foods are fat burning and help to make you healthy. Eating these foods, which include whole grains, fruits, protein powder, etc will have a satiating effect and make you feel fuller and thus not eat as much.

This is the whole point of the eating regime and is why counting calories is not necessary for this program. It is also based on eating six small meals a day rather than three larger meals. Doing this is very effective for the metabolism and is a tool that bodybuilders have used for many years when trying to get to less than 10% body fat levels.

For those that can control eating and stop once they feel somewhat full the eating plan is great. But for me it was difficult to achieve any results since I was overeating on these healthy foods. Even though they're healthy, if you eat too much you won't lose any weight.

Training

As for the exercise program, I found it highly effective and a great program for beginners. It is based on circuit training. Circuit training is based on doing around 10 or more exercises for around 10 repeats each and then repeating about three times. It is intense and effective. Usually you would exercise around 3-4 days a week which isn't that bad.

This program doesn't push on long cardiovascular training but rather focuses on circuit training and speed training with cardio. Again, a great intro for beginners that aren't ready to spend hours a day in the gym.

Conclusion

I find that "the Abs Diet" is a great book for the beginner trying to lose weight. It is much better than those fad diets or any weight loss pills, belts, or crazy machines. This book teaches you how to change your lifestyle and, in doing so, will result in weight loss.

Will you get abs following this program? I didn't. But it got me more healthy and ready to follow "Burn the Fat, Feed The Muscle" which did help me get abs.

The Abs diet is also not that expensive and much easier to follow than the program I mentioned above. No counting calories, exercising only a few days a week, and eating the 12 power foods which, in my opinion, are very tasty.
